Lucas Borbas faces backlash over new engagement

Lucas Borbas, the widower of digital influencer Isabel Veloso, has faced significant backlash on social media following a romantic post about his new fiancée, speech therapist Diulia Loregian.

In an Instagram post, Borbas described their initial meeting as “light, soft, and without malice,” noting that Loregian’s personality and kind gaze caught his attention. However, followers criticized the timing of the romance, pointing out that the connection appeared to have begun while Borbas was still married to Veloso, who passed away from Hodgkin lymphoma.

Loregian had previously clarified that her initial contact with the family was strictly professional, as she provided speech therapy for the couple's son, Arthur. Despite the online controversy and accusations of insensitivity toward Veloso’s memory, Borbas expressed his commitment to building a future with Loregian, stating that they plan to marry in the coming months.
