Lucas Byrd and Ellie Holzman marry after viral social media fame

Former University of Illinois athletes Lucas Byrd and Ellie Holzman have married following an engagement announced in June. The couple, who gained significant social media attention for their height difference, has amassed over 570,000 followers on TikTok.

Byrd is a 5-foot-5 former NCAA wrestling champion, while Holzman is a 6-foot-2 former volleyball player for the Fighting Illini. Their relationship became a viral sensation after videos of them together highlighted their physical contrast, though they have noted that their connection grew from a close friendship.
