Lucas Coenen's sciatic nerve injury clouds Flanders MXGP showdown

Top MXGP rider Lucas Coenen has been sidelined by a sciatic nerve problem after recent crashes, casting doubt on his participation in the Flanders Grand Prix at Lommel. His absence allowed Jeffrey Herlings to overtake him in the championship, moving into the lead with 615 points while Coenen scored zero in the last two rounds.

In the MX2 class, Spaniard Guillem Farres leads with 618 points, followed by Belgian Sacha Coenen on 585. The upcoming Flanders GP will be crucial for both riders as they vie for the title, with other contenders such as Camden McLellan, Simon Laengenfelder and Liam Everts remaining in contention.
