Lucas di Grassi retires from professional racing

Brazilian racing driver Lucas di Grassi has retired from professional motorsport following the Formula E London E-Prix. The event marked the conclusion of the 12th season of the Formula E World Championship and served as the final race for the series at the ExCel London track.

Di Grassi, 42, concludes a career spanning 32 years that began in karting in 1994. A central figure in the development of Formula E, he competed in 12 seasons of the electric racing series, securing the world championship during the 2016/17 season and recording 14 career victories.

His professional history includes winning the Formula 3 World Championship at the Macau Grand Prix and competing in Formula 1 with Virgin Racing. He also achieved significant success in endurance racing, including three podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
