Sindimmar urges Congress to approve special retirement for education staff

The Municipal Public Servants Union of Marília (Sindimmar) has formally requested urgent attention from the Brazilian Congress regarding Bill No. 2.709/2022. Currently moving through the Senate Federal Education Commission, the proposal seeks to recognize pedagogical activities performed outside the classroom as qualifying roles for special retirement.

If passed, the law would extend these retirement rights to coordinators, supervisors, directors, and technical assistants. The initiative has received support from Marília Mayor Vinícius Camarinha, who sent an official letter to Senate President Davi Alcolumbre requesting expedited processing. Sindimmar President Vanilda Gonçalves de Lima stated that the measure is necessary to protect the rights of professionals whose essential pedagogical contributions have been historically overlooked in legislation.
