Lucas do Rio Verde expands flu vaccine access to general population

The municipality of Lucas do Rio Verde has made the flu vaccine available to the entire population through all Basic Health Units (UBSs). Previously, immunization was restricted to priority groups, including the elderly, children, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases, people with disabilities, indigenous populations, and specific workers.

The vaccine protects against circulating strains of Influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and Influenza B (Victoria lineage). According to Deputy Health Secretary Keli Paludo Fernandes, more than 17,000 people have been immunized since the vaccination campaign began in April.

To receive the dose, residents must present a photo ID and a vaccination card at any health unit. The Parque das Araras and Parque das Emas units offer extended hours, operating on weekends and holidays from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
