Lucas do Rio Verde expands sanitation services and attracts US industrial interest

The Autonomous Water and Sewage Service (SAAE) in Lucas do Rio Verde has expanded its container sanitation capabilities with a R$ 1.7 million investment. The acquisition of new equipment increases the number of available washing machines to three, serving approximately 5,000 containers across 24 neighborhoods and rural areas. This upgrade is expected to increase cleaning frequency from once a month to twice a month.

Simultaneously, the municipality is attracting international industrial interest. Representatives from Sukup, a major American manufacturer of grain storage systems, visited Lucas do Rio Verde to evaluate the potential for establishing a local factory. The company's CEO, Tom Mangan, noted the region's rapid growth and strategic importance for agriculture. Local officials highlighted the area's high productivity, noting that within a 200 km radius, the region accounts for 57% of corn production and 50% of soy production.
