Lucas do Rio Verde: Four injured in knife attack

Four people were injured in a knife attack on Wednesday morning in the Jardim Palmeiras neighborhood of Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso. The incident occurred on Avenida Brasil around 5:30 a.m.

According to the Military Firefighters Corps of Mato Grosso (CBMMT), the suspect remained armed with a knife and threatened the rescue team when they arrived. The Military Police were called to assist in containing the individual after he refused orders to drop the weapon.

Among the victims, a man and a woman sustained multiple injuries to the thoracic, abdominal, and cervical regions. Rescuers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the victims due to suspected cardiorespiratory arrest. All victims were transported to Hospital São Lucas, including one person who arrived via private means and another transported by the Municipal Guard. The motive for the attack remains unknown.
