Lucas do Rio Verde hosts 11th Dia do Rock festival, drawing thousands

The 11th edition of the Dia do Rock took place on Saturday night, 11 May, at the roundabout of the Lucas do Rio Verde city hall in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Organized by the municipal Secretariat of Culture and Tourism in partnership with construction firm Ilha Construtora, the event gathered thousands of attendees for a celebration of classic national and international rock music.

The program opened with singer‑musician Darcy Lebron and her band, followed by local groups The Mustard, Estaca Zero and Kia Ora. A tribute to Charlie Brown Jr. was performed by the Cuiabá‑based band Ponto Seis, and the night closed with the national Ozzy Osbourne tribute act Ozzmosis. Complementary attractions included exhibitions of motorcycles and classic cars, supported by local motor‑clubs.

Secretariat head Luciana Bauer said, “It is a great joy to lead an event like this, celebrating rock with high‑quality bands for all tastes.” Isla Construtora’s engineering manager Victor Fidelis added, “It is important for us to contribute to social events and be close to the Lucas do Rio Verde community.”
