Lucas do Rio Verde hosts Rota Urbana festival with skate, breaking, capoeira and classic cars
The Praça Florais dos Buritis in Lucas do Rio Verde was filled on Saturday with the free Rota Urbana festival, a blend of sport and culture. Families, athletes and urban‑culture fans watched competitions in skateboarding, breaking, a small‑soccer (golzinho) tournament, and a capoeira acrobatics showcase. The program also featured a classic‑car exhibition, a vinyl‑record fair, artisan stalls, food kiosks and DJs.
Mayor Miguel Vaz opened the event, stressing the importance of public leisure spaces. Organizer Júnior Munhoz explained that the festival, launched in 2015 to promote breaking and hip‑hop, has grown to include skate, cosplay, MCs and capoeira. The local Culture and Tourism secretariat presented a “Casa do Artesão” exhibition and capoeira workshops, highlighting the city’s investment in community culture.
