Lucas do Rio Verde expands road, cavalry facilities and tourism data collection

The municipal government of Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso, is pursuing several development projects. A meeting with about 12 local producers and city officials outlined steps to municipalize a 4.5‑km rural road at the KM 8 junction of MT‑449. The owners will donate the road and its right‑of‑way by July 25, after which a law will be sent to the city council to incorporate the road into the public network and allow upgrades such as drainage, grading and widening to eight metres.

In a separate initiative, the city signed a service order to begin the second phase of construction of the Cavalry headquarters. The new equine centre will add training rooms, physiotherapy and psychology clinics, a covered arena, stables for 12 horses and facilities for equine‑assisted therapy, expanding operational capacity and community services.

The municipal Secretariat of Culture and Tourism also launched an unprecedented survey of the local hotel sector. Field teams are gathering data on accommodation capacity, visitor profiles and compliance with the national Guest Registration System (FNRH Digital). The resulting database will support future tourism policies, attract investment and improve the city’s competitiveness as a business‑travel destination.
