Lucas do Rio Verde opens food supply program for family farmers
The City Hall of Lucas do Rio Verde has opened a public call for family farmers interested in supplying food to the Federal Government’s Food Acquisition Program (PAA), managed through the Ministry of Social Development. The products, which include fruits, vegetables, legumes, cassava, eggs, honey, bread, and cake, will be distributed to vulnerable individuals and families served by municipal public programs.
To participate, farmers must reside in Lucas do Rio Verde and hold an active Family Farming Registry (CAF). Each producer can sell up to R$ 15,000 per year, though final amounts depend on food quantity and available resources. Applications must be submitted in person at the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture and Environment between October 9 and October 16.
Priority in the selection process will be given to women, youth aged 18 to 29, indigenous people, quilombolas, Black individuals, fishermen, and agrarian reform settlers, as well as those registered in the CadÚnico system.
