Lucas do Rio Verde opens new Arena Tessele Junior sports complex

The Municipality of Lucas do Rio Verde inaugurated the Complexo Arena Tessele Junior on Wednesday, the 8th, in the Luiz Carlos Tessele Junior neighbourhood. The facility includes a 7‑a‑side and an 11‑a‑side football field, flood‑lighting for night matches, spectator stands and parking.

Mayor Miguel Vaz, Vice‑Mayor Joci Piccini and Sports Secretary André Matto attended the ceremony, emphasizing the role of sport in improving quality of life. Vaz said, “Sports is life, movement and quality of life,” while Piccini added that new fields keep young people off the streets. Local athlete Ruan Riquelme praised the venue, noting the improved lighting and stands.

The project is part of the city’s broader effort to expand sports infrastructure, aiming to encourage physical activity, community interaction and the development of local athletes.
