Lucas do Rio Verde hosts urban culture festival and launches creative business grant

The municipality of Lucas do Rio Verde held the 11th edition of the Rota Urbana on Saturday, 4 July, at Praça Florais dos Buritis. Organized by the municipal Secretariat of Sport and Leisure, the free event featured urban sports competitions, skating, capoeira, breaking battles, a vintage‑car exhibition, a vinyl‑record fair, food stalls and live music by regional and national DJs. Participants and performers arrived from nearby towns such as Alta Floresta, Sinop, Nova Mutum and Primavera do Leste. Organizer Júnior Munhoz said, “A cultura urbana é o encontro das pessoas, das famílias ocupando os espaços públicos, convivendo e aproveitando a cidade.”

Separately, the Secretariat of Culture and Tourism issued Public Call No. 007/2026 to fund the modelling of creative cultural businesses (LAB II). Backed by the Aldir Blanc National Culture Promotion Policy, the call offers up to R$30,000 to a qualified legal entity that will deliver training, mentorship and incubation for local cultural enterprises. Applications are open from 3 July to 23 July 2026. The programme aims to strengthen the city's creative economy, promote inclusion, sustainability and the development of viable cultural‑business models.
