Lucas Herbert Extends Lead at LIV Golf UK Tournament

Australian Lucas Herbert broke the JCB Golf & Country Club course record with an 11‑under‑par 61 in the opening round of the LIV Golf UK event at Rocester, England, and followed it with a six‑under‑par 66 in round two. The performances gave him a four‑stroke lead heading into the final day.

Bryson DeChambeau of the Crushers GC remained in contention, posting a 64 in round one and staying in second place at 13‑under. Other notable challengers included England’s Tyrrell Hatton (third) and South Korean An Byung‑Hun, who shared fifth place after a 67. In the team competition, Ripper GC, led by Herbert, held the top spot, while Crushers GC sat second.

Herbert, fresh from a sixth‑place finish at The Open Championship, has already won LIV Golf Virginia in May and aims for his second LIV win of the season. He credited the competitive pressure from DeChambeau for sharpening his game. The tournament, featuring a $30 million purse, continues to draw international players and media attention.
