Lucas Herrington joins Hull City in record Australian transfer

Australian defender Lucas Herrington has completed a high-profile transfer to Premier League side Hull City, becoming one of the most expensive Australian soccer players in history. The deal is valued at over £17 million ($A33m).

Herrington’s rapid ascent began in the NPL Queensland before he moved to Brisbane Roar and subsequently to the MLS side Colorado Rapids. His performances earned him a spot with the Socceroos, where he made history as the youngest Australian to start a World Cup match during a game against Paraguay.
