Lucas Maiolo protests judicial persecution in Villa María

Lucas Maiolo, a 44-year-old former police officer, staged a protest in Villa María by chaining himself inside a replica coffin in front of the local courts. The demonstration was aimed at prosecutor Silvia Maldonado, as Maiolo claims he is a victim of judicial persecution following two complaints he describes as false.

Maiolo stated that the legal actions, which included two raids on his home and the seizure of his cell phone, have severely impacted his life and ability to pay his employees. He alleged that the complainants, identified as his former partner Nadia Brossard and a friend, have violated existing restraining orders and have access to internal judicial information.

Defense attorney Teodora Perassi clarified that while Maiolo has been interviewed by technical teams, he has not been formally charged. She noted that the current legal measures against him include restrictions and a panic button, arguing that the justice system prioritizes the voices of the complainants over his defense.
