Argentine football players move as Pezzella nears Peñarol transfer

Several notable movements are occurring in the Argentine football transfer market involving River Plate and Talleres.

Germán Pezzella, the 2022 World Cup winner, is nearing a move to Peñarol in Uruguay after rescinding his contract with River Plate. The 35-year-old defender, who had been sidelined from the professional squad, is expected to sign a deal through December 2027.

At River Plate, defender Lucas Martínez Quarta is facing potential departure to clubs in the United Arab Emirates or Qatar on loan, following criticism after the club's elimination from the Copa Sudamericana.

Talleres is seeing significant departures in its attacking line. Paraguayan striker Ronaldo Martínez is set to join Vélez Sarsfield on a loan with a conditional purchase obligation. Additionally, Chilean forward Bruno Barticciotto is moving to Huracán on a six-month loan with an option to extend or purchase.
