Lucas Michal joins Cercle Brugge on loan from AS Monaco

French 21‑year‑old forward Lucas Michal, a youth international with 38 caps, has been loaned by AS Monaco to Belgian side Cercle Brugge for the 2024‑25 season. The one‑year deal contains no purchase option, meaning Michal will return to Monaco after the loan unless a future agreement is reached.

Michal, who is under contract with Monaco until 2029, spent the latter half of the previous season on loan at FC Metz in Ligue 1, making nine appearances, two as a starter, before the club was relegated. The move to Cercle Brugge is intended to give him regular first‑team minutes in the Jupiler Pro League and further his development. The loan continues a long‑standing partnership between the Belgian club and Monaco, which has previously facilitated moves for players such as Paris Brunner and Edan Diop.
