Lucas Moran Pleads Guilty to Domestic Violence Assault in Atlantic City

On July 22, 2026, Lucas Moran, a 27‑year‑old from Dunmore, Pennsylvania, entered a guilty plea before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Christine Smith for one count of third‑degree aggravated assault on a domestic‑violence victim. The plea recommends a five‑year prison term, pending the judge’s acceptance.

The assault occurred on September 28, 2025, when Atlantic City police responded to a report of a person being dragged into a Chrysler 300 on Adriatic Avenue. Moran, the victim’s ex‑boyfriend, brandished a folding tactical knife and attempted to pull the woman back into the vehicle. The victim’s mother stopped him, and Moran fled westward. New Jersey State Police later located his vehicle on the Atlantic City Expressway, recovered the knife, and detained him. Sentencing is set for September 15, 2026.
