Lucas Pinheiro Braathen targets overall World Cup title

Brazilian alpine skier Lucas Pinheiro Braathen has announced his intention to pursue the overall World Cup crystal globe this upcoming season. Following a successful winter where he secured Olympic gold in giant slalom and won the discipline's small crystal globe, Braathen aims to close the 568-point gap that separated him from leader Marco Odermatt in the previous season's general classification.

To challenge Odermatt, Braathen has adjusted his training regimen to focus more heavily on speed disciplines. He participated in training camps in Chile to improve his performance in the super-G, a discipline he plans to utilize more frequently to accumulate necessary points. While he intends to maintain his competitive edge in slalom and giant slalom, the addition of super-G is central to his strategy to secure the overall title.
