Eduardo Riedel leads Mato Grosso do Sul gubernatorial race

Governor Eduardo Riedel is showing strong momentum in the Mato Grosso do Sul gubernatorial race. According to recent polling by the Instituto de Pesquisa Resultado (IPR), Riedel holds 44.77% of voting intentions, placing him in a position to potentially win the election in the first round. His closest competitor, Fábio Trad, follows with 13.78%.

Riedel also recently received the 2026 Excellence in Competitiveness Award from the Centro de Liderança Pública (CLP). The award recognizes the state's 'Sem Deixar Ninguém Para Trás' initiative, which has successfully reduced extreme poverty in Mato Grosso do Sul from 2.7% to 1.6% between 2022 and 2024.
