Lucas Rodrigues signs with Paysandu as club pushes for Serie C promotion

Lucas Rodrigues, a 24‑year‑old central defender, officially joined Brazilian club Paysandu on 6 August 2026. He arrived in Belém, completed medical examinations and is awaiting registration with the CBF’s daily bulletin, after which he can be fielded in the Serie C competition. The contract runs until the end of the national tournament.

Rodrigues said he is “very happy” and ready to help Paysandu achieve promotion. He made himself available for the upcoming match against Confiança in the 16th round, with Paysandu sitting sixth on 23 points while the opponent is bottom‑placed. He emphasized his physical readiness, adaptability to different systems and desire to protect the defence.
