Lucas Stassin scores on Sevilla debut
Lucas Stassin scored on his debut for Sevilla following a late-window transfer from Saint-Étienne. The 21-year-old Belgian striker entered the match in the 54th minute and found the net in the 85th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the penalty area following a corner kick.
Despite Stassin's goal, Sevilla was unable to secure a victory against Espanyol, as the home side managed to equalize in the closing stages of the match. Sevilla had played with ten men since the 56th minute after Arouna Sangante received a red card.
Stassin joined Sevilla on a one-season loan deal with an option to purchase. The striker sought a move away from Saint-Étienne to compete at a higher level in La Liga after previously expressing a desire to avoid another season in Ligue 2.
