Lucas Stassin's future uncertain at AS Saint-Étienne

The future of striker Lucas Stassin at AS Saint-Étienne remains uncertain as the transfer window approaches its final stages. Despite being the club's most expensive signing, Stassin has struggled to find form in Ligue 2 following a successful previous season in the top flight.

Under new coach Ian Cathro, the team has secured two significant victories—3-1 and 3-0—while Stassin remained on the bench. This recent success has led to discussions regarding the club's potential ability to perform without him. Stassin, who has reportedly sought a move, is unlikely to remain at the club for a second season in the second division.

In anticipation of a possible departure, former coach Laurent Roussey has suggested that the club should seek a more athletic and physical replacement. Roussey argues that a profile capable of dominating aerial duels and physical confrontations would better serve the team's needs compared to Stassin's more technical and mobile playing style.
