Lucasfilm Announces Audiobook and Theatrical Re-releases for Star Wars 50th Anniversary

Lucasfilm revealed at San Diego Comic‑Con that the original Star Wars trilogy will be issued as unabridged audiobooks on February 2, 2027. All three novelizations will be narrated by veteran voice actor Marc Thompson.

In addition, a newly restored version of the 1977 film Star Wars: A New Hope will play in theaters worldwide for a limited engagement beginning February 19, 2027, marking the franchise’s 50th‑anniversary celebrations. The company also announced a slate of new books and graphic novels tied to the milestone.
