Lucca Comics & Games features Nagasaki legacy and prehistoric research
The Lucca Comics & Games festival will host diverse initiatives centered on the theme of 'Legacy.' One major project, the 'NAGASAKI ‘45' pavilion at the Church of San Cristoforo, presents the story of Takashi and Midori Nagai. The exhibition highlights the life of Takashi Nagai, a medical student and radiologist who survived the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. His journey from an atheist scientist to a Christian figure of resilience and peace is explored through the work of French comic artist Nathalie Fourmy, whose book 'Nagasaki ‘45' won a Christian comic award.
Additionally, the Italian Institute of Prehistory and Protohistory (IIPP) will participate in the Comics & Science Palace from October 29 to November 1. The IIPP will present its new podcast, 'Il tempo delle Origini,' and host panels discussing how archaeological research is communicated through modern media such as comics, podcasts, and digital tools. Topics include the reconstruction of prehistoric life, the use of silent comics for children, and the evolution of archaeological storytelling.
