Italy regional updates: agricultural funds and infrastructure projects

Various regional and local administrative developments are underway across Italy. In Calabria, the Arcea has authorized over 10.8 million euros in funding to support the agricultural and viticulture sectors, specifically targeting young farmers and farm modernization.

In the province of Matera, 3 million euros from the Cohesion Development Fund (FSC) has been allocated for the safety upgrades of the SP 18 road connecting Pozzitello, Pisticci, and San Basilio. This project aims to reduce accidents on a route serving approximately 17,000 residents.

Other local initiatives include the inauguration of the restored medieval castle tower in Nucetto, funded by PNRR and the CRC Foundation, and the commencement of a 750,000 euro road redevelopment project in Tissi, Sardinia. In Lucca, the new bridge over the Serchio river has been officially named ‘Ponte dell’Airone’ following a student contest. Additionally, debates continue regarding the urban redevelopment of the former tobacco factory in Lucca and proposed reforms to artisan business regulations in Calabria.
