Lucăcești police seize illegal timber transport

Police in Lucăcești, Romania, intercepted a Mercedes-Benz utility vehicle transporting softwood timber without valid documentation. During a routine check on DJ 209C, officers used the SUMAL 2.0 application to verify the shipment, which confirmed the absence of a required permit.

Following an inventory conducted at the Pod Izvor depot of the Gura Humorului Forestry District, officials determined the vehicle was carrying 3.4 cubic meters of softwood valued at 2,458 lei. The timber was seized and placed in the custody of a forest ranger. The driver, identified as Nicolae N., was issued a fine of 4,000 lei for transporting wood without the legally required documentation.
