Lucena and Toro announce local municipal resolutions
The Lucena City Council has approved the first resolution of 2026 for birth grants, awarding 197 subsidies totaling 78,800 euros. Each grant amounts to 400 euros. The program, which has an initial budget of 125,000 euros (expandable to 140,000 euros), has been divided into two annual resolutions to reduce waiting times for recipients.
To qualify, applicants must be parents or legal guardians of children born or adopted within the specified period, with the child's first registration occurring in Lucena. Applicants must have been registered as residents in the city for at least one year prior to the birth or adoption.
In a separate local administrative matter, the Toro City Council has approved the tax rolls for the 2026 occupation of public land for profit. This fee applies to the use of tables, chairs, terraces, and other similar elements. The tax rolls will be available for public inspection for one month, with the voluntary payment period scheduled from October 15 to December 21, 2026.
