Lucena del Puerto to host Spanish Mud Volleyball Championship

Lucena del Puerto will host the 29th edition of the Spanish Mud Volleyball Tournament and the 24th Spanish Championship from August 25 to 29. The event has established the municipality as a national reference for this unique sport.

Local officials, including Mayor Álvaro Regidor and Vice President of the Huelva Provincial Council José Manuel Zamora, highlighted the tournament's role in promoting sports, community coexistence, and local tourism. The competition attracts players, families, and spectators from various regions, serving as a significant showcase for the town.

Originating in July 1993 through the initiative of municipal sports technician Juan Rogelio Pardavila, the sport has grown from a local idea into a consolidated national competition over the last three decades.
