Lucharama wrestling school in Madrid trains Spain's elite WWE stars

Lucharama, a specialised wrestling gym in the Carabanchel district of Madrid, serves as the training ground for Spain’s top pressing‑catch athletes. The facility, operated by White Wolf Wrestling, features a steel‑rope ring and a thin, spring‑loaded canvas rather than conventional gym equipment.

The school has produced the country’s only two wrestlers who now earn a living with WWE, including Carlos Ruiz – known in the ring as Axiom – who began his career under the name A‑Kid. Visitors can arrange to watch training sessions or even take a class, with regular workouts held in the late afternoon. As trainer Trevor de Vries notes, “It’s a hobby like any other, but here you really can get hurt.”
