Luciana Littizzetto named lifetime ambassador for Langa hazelnut

Italian comedian and presenter Luciana Littizzetto has been named a lifetime ambassador for the Tonda Gentile hazelnut of Langa. The title was bestowed by the Confraternita della Nocciola Tonda Gentile di Langa during a ceremony in Cortemilia on September 6.

Littizzetto is the first person to receive this lifetime distinction. The recognition stems from her public defense of the historical hazelnut denomination during a 2016 television appearance, where she advocated for local growers. The Tonda Gentile cultivar is a key component of Piedmontese cuisine, essential for products such as gianduia and traditional pastries.

The ceremony, part of the Fautor Langae awards, was led by Grand Master Ginetto Pellerino and local officials. The role involves promoting the economic and social importance of hazelnut cultivation in the Alta Langa region.
