Luciano Juba equals club record for goals by a defender at Bahia

Esporte Clube Bahia left-back Luciano Juba has reached a significant milestone, equaling Ávine for the most goals scored by a defender in the club's history during this century. By scoring a penalty in a 2-1 victory against Remo, Juba reached 21 total goals for the club.

Juba is currently the leading scorer for Bahia in the 2026 season with ten goals, nine of which have been scored in the Campeonato Brasileiro. He is now just one goal away from becoming the sole record holder for goals by a defender in Bahia's history.

Following the victory, Bahia returned to the G-4 position in the league standings, maintaining an 11-match unbeaten streak in the competition. Coach Rogério Ceni commented on the achievement during a post-match press conference.
