Luciano Pavarotti: Financial debts and inheritance revealed

Luciano Pavarotti, the renowned Italian tenor, passed away from pancreatic cancer at age 71. While his wealth was once estimated at approximately £200 million, financial audits following his death revealed significant debts totaling nearly £7 million.

Court documents filed in Modena detailed his complex financial situation, including accounts at seven different banks. One account at Monte dei Paschi di Siena reportedly showed a deficit of €11 million, while another branch in Munich held a balance of only 49 US cents. His assets included three villas and an apartment in Italy, as well as a residence in Monaco.

Pavarotti's estate and will also drew public attention due to his personal history. He left three daughters from his first marriage—Lorenza, Cristina, and Giuliana—and one daughter, Alice, from his second marriage to Nicoletta Mantovani. Under Italian law, half of his estate was to be divided among his daughters, while Mantovani was designated to receive 25 percent, with the remaining 25 percent also allocated to her via his will.
