Lucien Arkas Vineyards retains Bornova Misket Grape certification

Lucien Arkas Vineyards in Torbalı has successfully maintained its right to use the Bornova Misket Grape Geographical Indication Logo after passing inspections. This follows the initial application for the logo in 2024.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki visited the vineyards to conduct a symbolic harvest and present a certificate of appreciation to Merve Arkas, founder and chairperson of Monreve Group, for her role in preserving this agricultural heritage. The Mayor emphasized the municipality's goal to promote the unique cultural heritage of Bornova Misket grapes to Izmir, Turkey, and the global market.

This development follows recent efforts by the Bornova Municipality to expand the production network of the grape, including meetings with local producers from the Urla Wine Route Association. The certification processes are intended to ensure that local production standards are upheld and that the heritage is preserved for future generations.
