Lucinda Brand joins Canyon SRAM with 2028 retirement plan

Dutch cyclist Lucinda Brand has signed a two-year agreement to join Canyon SRAM for the 2027 road season. The deal includes a long-term arrangement that will see the 37-year-old transition from professional racing into a staff role within the team.

Brand intends to conclude her professional road cycling career at the Paris-Roubaix Femmes in 2028. She has selected this specific race as her final event due to its demands on endurance and positioning, qualities that have defined her career in both road racing and cyclocross.

Beyond her competitive goals, the agreement focuses on Brand’s transition into a leadership position. She aims to use her tactical experience to help develop younger riders and has expressed interest in evolving into a sports director role after her retirement.
