Lucca Film Festival undergoes management change and concludes 22nd edition

The Lucca Film Festival is undergoing a significant institutional and artistic transition. The festival, led by Nicola Borrelli, is handing over management to the Incontri del cinema d’essai, which operates with support from the Ministry of Culture, the Tuscany Region, and the Municipality of Lucca.

To mark this change, the event features a national premiere of the film ‘Dio ride’, directed by and starring Giovanni Veronesi and Pier Francesco Favino. The program includes a public debate with the creators and a formal handover ceremony involving institutional representatives.

Additionally, the 22nd edition of the Lucca Film Festival has concluded its awards ceremony. Notable recipients include career awards for Gordon Getty, Julian Schnabel, Liliana Cavani, and Nanni Moretti. The Golden Panther Award was presented to director Nicolas Winding Refn, while Donatella Finocchiario received the Outstanding Woman in Film Award.
