Lucknow Home Guard arrested for alleged murder of wife and daughter

A Home Guard stationed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has been taken into custody for the alleged strangulation murder of his wife and daughter. The incident occurred at their residence in the Krishna Nagar area.

The victims have been identified as 50-year-old Shyama Dulari and 32-year-old Pooja Sahu. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect, 56-year-old Ravindra Shankar, had frequent disputes with his wife. His daughter, who had been divorced twice, had been living with him at the time of the incident.

Police received reports of the killings via the Dial-112 emergency service around 6:00 AM on Friday. Senior officials inspected the scene, and forensic teams were deployed to collect evidence. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination following legal formalities, and an FIR has been registered as the investigation continues.
