Lucknow police and municipal team attacked during anti-pollution drive

A municipal corporation and police team were attacked by a crowd of approximately 20 to 25 people in the Buddheshwar area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred while officials were conducting an operation against illegal dairies and the spreading of waste and dung in public spaces.

During the confrontation, the crowd reportedly surrounded the officials and engaged in physical violence. Allegations include an attempt to strangle a sub-inspector and an assault on the officer's head using an iron chain. The sudden violence caused chaos at the scene before additional police reinforcements arrived to restore order.

Lucknow Police have registered cases against more than 12 individuals. So far, two women have been arrested, and authorities are using video footage and eyewitness accounts to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects. Police have stated they will take strict action against those who obstructed government work and assaulted personnel.
