After taking the businessman hostage at gunpoint, the criminals contacted his wife and demanded a ransom. The family provided 13 lakh rupees in cash and jewelry, after which the suspects released the victim near Shaheed Path.

Following an extensive investigation involving eight police teams and the review of approximately 240 CCTV cameras, six members of the gang were arrested. Authorities recovered four forged police ID cards, 2.50 lakh rupees in cash, two firearms, ammunition, the vehicle used in the crime, and two counterfeit number plates.
