Lucknow police arrest three suspects in temple theft case
Lucknow police have arrested three individuals in connection with thefts at the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple and the Pipleshwar Mahadev Temple in the Gudamba area. The suspects, identified as Rizwan (33), Mohammad Adil (22), and Vijay Maurya (24), were apprehended following a vehicle inspection near Shakti Van.
The arrests follow a complaint filed on August 3 regarding the theft of jewelry from deity idols and a CCTV DVR at the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to stealing items including a silver crown and a silver umbrella, and confessed to involvement with other accomplices in the crimes.
Authorities recovered 34,000 rupees in cash, 196 grams of white metal, various brass religious items such as a mace and a trident, theft tools, and a motorcycle used in the commission of the crimes.
