Lucknow police constable found dead in Gomti Nagar station barracks

Akash Yadav, a 28-year-old police constable from the 2019 batch, was found dead in his barracks at the Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow. His body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan using a bedsheet.

The incident was reported after another officer noticed the barracks door was locked from the inside. Upon checking through the window, the officer alerted superiors. DCP East, Dr. Diksha Sharma, confirmed that authorities have been notified and the deceased's family has been informed.

No suicide note was recovered from the scene. A forensic team has inspected the site and collected samples. Police are currently investigating the circumstances behind the death to determine the motive.
