Lucknow Sub-Inspector Found Dead in Locked Car

A sub‑inspector of the Ghazipur police station, identified as Ajay Kumar (also reported as Ajay Thakur), was discovered unconscious inside a locked Santro car parked on Budheshwar‑Mohan Road in Lucknow on July 17, 2026. Police traced his mobile phone to the vehicle after he went out of contact, broke the window, and removed his body, which was later declared dead at a hospital. Preliminary examination noted no external injuries but observed bleeding from his nose, and his clothes were reportedly blood‑stained.
