Lucky Bird Pictures begins filming Juli Zeh's bestseller 'Über Menschen' in Fürth

The German city of Fürth is hosting the final days of location shooting for the film adaptation of Juli Zeh’s bestselling novel "Über Menschen." Production is being carried out by Lucky Bird Pictures GmbH, with director Anno Saul and screenwriter Astrid Stroeher. Lead roles are filled by Rosalie Thomass and Ronald Zehrfeld. The shoot follows earlier filming in Mangelsdorf, Saxony‑Anhalt, and is scheduled to wrap up in the summer of 2026.

"Über Menschen," published in 2021 by Luchterhand Verlag, reached number 2 on the Spiegel bestseller list and sold roughly 30 000 copies in December 2021. The film is expected to run about 120 minutes and will portray the novel’s story of a Berlin woman seeking a new life in a rural village during the first COVID‑19 lockdown.
