Lucky Candra Kurniawan wins inaugural 2026 Indonesia Tennis League series
Lucky Candra Kurniawan secured the men's singles title at the first series of the 2026 Indonesia Tennis League in Jakarta. As the second seed, Lucky defeated the top seed, Tegar Abdi Satrio Wibowo, in a three-set final with a score of 6-2, 1-6, and 6-0.
Following his victory, Lucky expressed his intention to focus on preparations for the 2026 Asian Games. He noted that he needs to improve his mental strength, physical conditioning, and consistency to secure a spot on the national squad. His upcoming schedule includes the Riau Open and an international Men’s Future tournament in Bali.
The Indonesian Tennis Association (PP Pelti) expressed hope that more national players will participate in the remaining series of the league. Secretary General Andi Fajar stated that the league, which consists of four regular series and a Masters series, serves as a strategic platform to provide more competitive opportunities for senior athletes, a category currently lacking sufficient tournament frequency compared to junior levels.
