Lucy Dacus and Brandon Flowers duet at Newport Folk Festival

Lucy Dacus performed a solo set at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island on July 24, 2026. During the set she invited Brandon Flowers, the front‑man of The Killers, to join her for a stripped‑back rendition of Jim Croce’s 1972 ballad “Time in a Bottle.” Dacus introduced Flowers as “Mr. Killers himself,” and the pair delivered the cover that appears on the expanded edition of Dacus’ fourth album, *Forever Is A Feeling*.

The performance was the final surprise guest appearance of the night, following earlier collaborations with Hayley Williams and Madi Diaz. Dacus noted afterward, “Y’all are going to have to pinch me.” The duet followed a prior joint appearance at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal the previous August. Flowers is set to release his third solo album, *Thrasher*, on August 21, 2026.
