Lucy Hale to star in Roku limited series ‘Scarlett Holmes’

Lucy Hale has been cast as the lead in ‘Scarlett Holmes’, an upcoming limited procedural dramedy for the Roku Channel. Scheduled to debut in 2027, the series offers a gender-swapped, romantic spin on the Sherlock Holmes legacy.

The show follows Scarlett Holmes, a contemporary descendant of the famous detective who uses her inherited powers of observation and deduction to investigate modern relationship mysteries, such as dating problems and deceptive behavior, rather than traditional crimes. She is joined by her partner, Jane Watson. The plot features a romantic tension between Scarlett and Ollie Moriarty, a podcast producer who is secretly working on an exposé regarding her investigative methods.

Hale will also serve as an executive producer alongside Sophie Tilson and Steve Jaggi of Jaggi Entertainment. The series is written by Paris Herbert-Taylor and Katie Wilbert, with Morgan Pichinson and Sabrina Lyall overseeing development for Roku Originals.
