Lucyna Kaczmarska: Unsolved 2002 murder case in Poland
The 2002 disappearance and death of 17-year-old Lucyna Kaczmarska remains an unsolved mystery in Poland. On September 3, 2002, the high school student traveled to Lipsko to meet an acquaintance named Wojciech. After getting out of a vehicle near a dormitory, she vanished. Her body was discovered 24 days later in a forest near Iłża.
Investigations into the case have been marked by several unresolved leads and alleged procedural failures. A witness reported seeing Lucyna enter a green car, but this lead was reportedly not sufficiently pursued by police. Additionally, Lucyna’s mobile phone was traced to an individual in Radom who had purchased it from a dealer, yet the person identified in a composite sketch was never interrogated before their death in 2010.
The case is further complicated by the death of Zbyszek, a friend of Lucyna who attempted a private investigation; while his death was officially ruled as exposure to cold, the condition of his clothing raised questions that were not deeply explored by authorities.
