Television updates: Die Discounter hiatus, SOKO Leipzig cast change, and American Horror Story teaser

Several updates regarding television productions have emerged. Actor Ludger Bökelmann, known for his role as Peter in the series ‘Die Discounter’, has announced that the show is currently on a hiatus. While a permanent cancellation has not been confirmed, creators Bruno Alexander and the Belton brothers are reportedly focusing on new projects for the time being.

In German crime drama, ‘SOKO Leipzig’ is entering a new era with its 27th season. Starting October 2, 2026, on ZDF, the series will feature Simon Böer as the new lead character, Dirk Trebbe, replacing Marco Girnth, who played Jan Maybach for 25 years. The new season will consist of 24 episodes.

Additionally, a teaser for the 13th season of ‘American Horror Story’ has been released, featuring the return of the character Twisty the Clown, played by John Carroll Lynch. The new season will include several returning cast members and will consist of 13 half-hour episodes.
